Diaper Bag Essentials
Don’t get caught without these items!
I was recently out with my kids and I realized that I forgot to bring snacks and let’s just say it was not a pleasant experience. Here are some essentials that can never be missing from your babies diaper bag!
Comfort Item. Be sure to have your baby’s favorite teddy or blanket handy when you are out and about. This helps to keep your baby calm and minimizes the tantrums when mommy or daddy are trying to have a conversation.
First Aid. Little ones are always getting bumps and bruises so always be prepared with bandaids and some Neosporin. I have a very handy first aid kit! Here is the link!
Formula and Bottles. Make sure that you have extra formula in your bag when you are going places. I use this handy formula dispenser/snack cup for both boys (one is still on formula and the other snacks alot!)
Diapers and Wipes. You’re in for a messy time if you forget to grab those wipes! Try to prep your bag the night before to be sure you don’t miss basics. In all the hustle and bustle that comes with being a mom even the simplest things slip our minds!
Nail Clipper / Grooming. If your little one has ever had a hang nail you know the desperation you feel when you do not have a nail clipper handy and if your little one is like mine with a head full of hair you want to be sure you have a brush and baby gel or baby oil (whatever you use to tame them!)
Drinks and Snacks. Basic snacks that are easy to grab and go, like goldfish or crackers are easy to store and pack but be sure you are giving your baby the proper nutrition if you are always on the go!
Clothing. Pack 2 to 3 pairs of clothes ALWAYS. Onesies are your friend. Little ones are always spilling things on themselves or getting dirty and having enough clothes is very important.
Sunscreen. Protect their sensitive skin! Have sunblock in your baby bag to prevent damage to your child’s skin. There are some after bath lotions that have a sunblock built into it!
Activities. Keep them busy! I always pack crayons because my son LOVES to color. My youngest however is complacent with his little seahorse rattle. I never go anywhere without it!
Pacifiers. Last but not least. I am raising my children with pacifiers. If you are too be sure you have pacifiers that are specific to your diaper bag so that you only use them when you are on the road. It eliminates the stress of having to find one when you are at home and realize they were all lost on the trip or fell in the car. They have a way of disappearing on you!
